Wednesday, Oct 28, 2026, 6-9 pm Eastern Time

Live Streamed via Zoom (& Recorded)
This class will be recorded and a replay link sent to students within 48 hours after the class.

*This class is geared towards advanced students and practitioners. It is included within 2026 Advanced Clinical & Assessment Skills Series, and also available for drop-in registrations here.

This class starts from a multifaceted, systemic understanding of trauma. From that foundation, we will explore the way trauma affects our clients, plays a role in health pictures, and affects clinical interactions. We’ll talk about the effects of different types of trauma on the nervous system, different categories of PTSD, and the ways trauma can affect our experiences in the world. Then we’ll think about different contexts where we provide herbal care, asking questions like: How may trauma responses emerge and how can I prepare and respond? When and how should we explore trauma with a client, and what’s relevant for a clinical assessment? What herbal supports can be helpful when clients are severely affected by trauma? How do we avoid causing harm and stay within our scope of practice?

Vilde Chaya Fenster-Ehrlich is a community herbalist committed to radical, liberatory herbal practice and education. She is an educator at and founder of the Wild Cherries Herbal Studies Program and teaches at the Wild Current Clinical Mentorship Program. She's passionate about mending the bond between the plant and human worlds, for companionship and collective healing; and loves the democratic, accessible and experiential nature of herbal medicine. In her experience, healing work is intimately interconnected with understanding, coping with and resisting the systemic violence and oppression that weighs on all our lives. Presently, she practices at the People's Medicine Project in Greenfield, MA and creates magical herbal spaces for her trans community in the cities, woods and rivers she calls home.
